🌬️ Blustery Winds

Storm Floris bought unsettled, windy and wet weather to Danbury and our surrounding villages on Monday. The week ahead looks settled, dry and mild.

🚧 Road closures, diversions and roadworks in Bicknacre and Cold Norton

Leighams Road will be closed from 4th-7th August at 6pm

Road closure by UK Power Networks and Essex & Suffolk water on Bicknacre Road. Diversion in place (see more: Essex Highways)

Cold Norton Road between Cold Norton at Latchingdon will have two way signals on August 8th

🔥 Wallasea wildfire

Firefighters battled a 10 hectare field fire on Wallasey Island on Tuesday 5th August (Essex County Fire and Rescue)

This follows the wildfire in Maldon in mid-July which destroyed 2.4 acres of the Blackwater Nature Reserve.

🔮 Future Notice: Boots, Eves Corner (temporary closure)

On 11th August, Boots at Eves Corner will be closed while UK Power Networks cuts back trees in the area that have grown close to overhead cables. The closure is expected to be no more than two hours from 9-11am.

⚠️ Planning application re-submitted by Pigeon Investment Management

Earlier this year, developers Pigeon Investment Management had their plans for a large industrial estate rejected. The application was deemed unsustainable, unjustified and damaging to local communities and the environment.

🐛 Summer Holidays: Wild Wednesdays

It’s August, which can only mean one thing. Wild Wednesdays!

Meet on the meadow at Danbury Country Park for some free child-led free play in the great outdoors, run by the Essex Country Parks Outdoor Learning Team. (Explore Essex)
